History
Since AY2004/2005, AEC has conducted annual surveys of the U-M academic administrators of all three University of Michigan campuses — Ann Arbor, Flint and Dearborn. Every year, the members of the Faculty Senate had the opportunity to evaluate the University President, Chancellors of Flint and Dearborn, and all Provosts, Deans, and Department Chairs of the three campuses. The results of the surveys are posted on this website and can be found below.
Latest Survey and Results
This year, 8,846 members of the Faculty Senate were invited to participate, and 2,172 responses were received (24.6% response rate). The numerical results of this survey are available in Tableau and were published on June 18, 2026. The free-form anonymous advice and confidential remarks included in the survey have been submitted to the appropriate administrators.
For your convenience, the survey results are accessible in two formats:
- Table Format: The first dashboard presents the results in a table, with each Administrator's responses' numerical values listed.
- Ranking Format: The next dashboard ranks Deans and Department Chairs by their overall response rate and also median survey scores per question.
We hope these results are informative and actionable for continuously improving university operations.
